Coral transplantation in the Marmara Sea

I’d like to introduce you to a remarkable person, Volkan Narcı.

​

Volkan is a passionate civil society activist who has devoted his life to nature, the sea, and underwater environments. He left his job in the private sector and returned to the islands where he spent his childhood to protect the seas and marine biodiversity.

​

I met him through the wonderful social project “Denize +1 Nefes.” His organization, the Marine Life Conservation Society (DYKD), is conducting coral transplantation in the Marmara Sea through this social project, in collaboration with Anadolu Efes and under the consultancy of Istanbul University’s Faculty of Aquatic Sciences Associate Professor Dr. Nur Eda Topçu!
