Marmara "Last Refuge"
As part of the "Sustainability Journey from Marmara to the Mediterranean" project, this book we prepared opens the doors to a captivating world for its readers. In the 100th year of the Republic of Turkey, our book, which blends statistical data collected over 100 days at 100 different diving spots with popular culture, emphasizes the significance of the Marmara Sea, Turkey’s most valuable body of water. The sea is an integral whole with its underwater environment, and this whole is also part of the land and air ecosystems it connects to. With this book, we aim to highlight that the sea is, in a sense, a life support system for the future of humanity. The book is designed to lay the groundwork for the measures needed for our sustainable common future; it serves as a reference for researchers, stakeholders, enthusiasts, decision-makers, and the policies to be implemented.
